A robocall saying that AT&T wanted to give me $532, and says that to collect the money I should go to www.myatt532.com and log in. Also said " at AT&T we care about you "... Yeah right, that’ll be the day ! I called AT&T to report what I believed to be a scam only to find that the AT&T call center was closed and that I should call back on the next business day. So much for caring. if they don't care why should I? Let them worry about the scam calls using their name.

It was really weird.. If you're using a smart phone, just install a call blocking app for for your device and set it to accept only calls from your contact list and your local area code. On my Android phone, I use an app called Call Control and it has solved the problem. Kind of a brute force approach, but until the CRTC and the Telcos do something about spoofed Caller ID's, it's the only way I found of retaining my sanity.

After getting lots of these phone calls, I told the person I'm not the decision maker as to our electricity company so to please stop calling me. He said he would but I kept getting calls. Then I found a blog comment that said to call 866-246-7196. I did and it was for a do not call request service for a small number of companies that call consumers. Just give the caller's phone number to verify it's on their list and the receiving phone number for the do not call list.
