Request for removing the comment of the phone number

Got this number showing up on my Caller ID, ignored it because I didn't recognize it, and most 800 #'s are telemarketers. 15 - 20 minutes later, same number. Looked it up and this page was the 1st result, and here are many others experiencing the same thing. I have neither ATT nor Verizon. Glad I didn't answer, number deleted from my phone. Like others mentioned, my number is registered on the Do-Not-Call list. Thanks to those who shared what they learned to warn others to not fall for a possible scam.
