I also got a call from this number claiming to be the IRS and stating there is fraud. However they never identified who they were calling for and the caller spoke in broken english and threatened jail time. There is no way this is official, I know from past experience that the IRS notifies you of discrepancies by mail and does not stoop to threatening you over the phone. D

They called my mom and they are saying she is involved in fraud, but I am suspicious as there is no such thing, and the sound of the message and the tone seems to be unprofessional so it cannot be from the government, which makes me more suspicious.

I tried to call the same number but it seems busy and I don't think it's real, but they did give her a case number and we will call the police department and we'll see what's up.
